Since the Bert Haanstra Compleet DVD box set was released in September 2007, an improbable number of Haanstra DVDs have been sold. Including sales for the year 2009, a total of 20,226 boxes of Haanstra Compleet (10 DVDs) have been sold. In addition, there are two smaller boxes: the Bert Haanstra Filmbox (4 DVDs) containing his major feature films, and the Bert Haanstra Docubox (4 DVDs), which includes his most important documentaries. 3,781 copies of the former were sold, while the latter was only released last autumn and had already reached 997 copies by December 31, 2009.

The films Fanfare, Alleman, De stem van het water, Bij de beesten af, and Dokter Pulder zaait papavers are also available separately on DVD. Together, these amounted to another 21,049 DVDs. Naturally, Fanfare was the top seller among them—with over ten thousand copies.

The quick calculators among us now know that, converted into individual DVDs, the total number of Haanstra DVDs sold stands at 232,521 units.
