The preliminary relief judge of the Amsterdam District Court ruled today in the summary proceedings of Klaas de Jong against Maarten Spanjer that Spanjer acted unlawfully.

Film producer Klaas de Jong filed summary proceedings against Spanjer because Spanjer made unlawful statements about him in national media, including RTL Boulevard and De Telegraaf. The judge concluded that those statements were insufficiently supported by the factual evidence.

The judge ruled that Spanjer's statements regarding Klaas de Jong are defamatory and harmful and are therefore unlawful. Spanjer was ordered to publish a rectification in the Saturday edition of De Telegraaf. Furthermore, Spanjer was ordered to pay the legal costs.

Klaas de Jong: “The judge has largely adopted our reasoning, and I am very pleased with the correction in De Telegraaf.”
It is clear that you cannot simply spread unfounded accusations. As far as I am concerned, this matter is closed.
