On Wednesday, August 20, NFTVM & Pluk de Nacht present a Summer Evening on passion & inspiration for the new filmmaker in Studio K, preceding the screening of the film Nu. by Jan Willem van Ewijk. Before dusk falls and the projector switches on, moderator Kris van Veelen will engage in conversation with self-taught filmmaker Jan Willem van Ewijk about the passion he followed that led to his debut film Nu.
While he designed airplanes for a living for years, during the final five years of his career, Van Ewijk devoted all his free time to writing and producing his debut film Nu., which premiered at the 2006 Netherlands Film Festival. His first film was written, directed, and produced by himself. Van Ewijk is currently working on the screenplay for his second film with support from the Film Fund and the Binger Institute.
Get inspired during the NFTVM & Pluk de Nacht Summer Evening 2008 about inspiration and perseverance, doubt, skill and incompetence in making your first film.
