A man and a woman dream of the Elfstedentocht. They refuse to turn on the heating and hope for a cold winter. But it remains unusually warm, even outside. "It will probably last a day," they think, but the heat persists. The man decides that the tour, tradition or not, must go ahead. He investigates artificial solutions such as ice machines, but his wife is skeptical.

The situation escalates when someone organizes an alternative trip. The man is furious and fiercely resists, while his wife is more understanding. This causes tension. The woman eventually takes the initiative to organize a new trip. She secretly works hard on the preparations, while the man makes sabotage plans.

On the day of the tour, the man discovers that his wife is behind the organization. He sees the festive atmosphere and feels the real Elfsteden feeling again. He abandons his sabotage plans. With a popsicle in his hand, he smiles at his wife, who gave him this moment.
