Alan was born in 1968 in Eindhoven, his father – an american electronician, died when Alan was 7 years old. To distract him from greefing, his mother put him in swimming school and made him practice everyday (she had herself competed for Netherlands in the Olympic Games in Rome, 1960). Just like his mother, Alan became highly succesfull and for seven years he was considered one of the top 3 swimmers in the Netherlands. Although, it all came to a hault when he at 28 was diagnosed with Bechterwes disease. Parson now took up his studies again and was accepted at Rotterdam School of Business where he graduated in 1999 with a bachelor in International Business Administration.
After graduation, Alan decided to move to US, there he wanted to seek his american roots and for one year he travelled around the country. During this trip Alan began a relationship with an older man whom he had met at a dinner with some distant cousins. The relationship was kept secret and Alan has never talked about his bi-sexuality with anyone ever since. When Alan was accepted into the MIT university, the couple broke up and Alan moved to Boston. At MIT, he got his masters and his p.hd in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics (MEMP). During these years Alan met his current wife Natalie and had their first son, Ethan.
In 2008 Alan and his family moved to Amsterdam where they had their second child Amy. In Amsterdam Alan started working as a board member in various healthcare companies while writing for business magazines and joining the Extropy Institute. 2012, he publish his first book and in 2015 he and B had been starting up Carira.
