Afgelopen weekend won de film WATER CHILDREN van Aliona van der Horst de DOXA FEATURE DOCUMENTARY AWARD in Vancouver, Canada. WATER CHILDREN is een poëtische, zinnelijke film over vruchtbaarheid, en daarmee een ode aan de vrouw en het lichaam. De jury press de film als "It is a film from the heart...a film that seeks out gentle words and ceremonies to articulate the experience of all women, and indirectly, of their sons. And, as in many memorable documentaries, the relationship between the filmmaker and, in this case, her subject, develops into a mutual exchange, a complex and intimate sharing of the experience and the moment'. Filmmaker Aliona van der Horst ontving voor deze film eerder de Honorary Mention op DOK Leipzig en de nominatie voor het Gouden Kalf voor Beste Nederlandse Documentaire. In 2011 draaide de film in verschillende Nederlandse bioscopen. WATER CHILDREN wordt opnieuw uitgezonden door de VPRO op 7 juni om 14:35 uur. De documentaire 'De Prijs van de Hemel' van Jack Janssen gaat maandag 14 mei in premiere in het Amsterdamse Filmtheater Rialto. De documentaire gaat over de ontwikkeling van Pablo Rosario, een groot voetbaltalent en potentiele topvoetballer. Filmmaker Jack Janssen volgde Pablo vanaf zijn dertiende, toen de tijd aanbrak om zijn belofte waar te maken, ondanks een moeilijke thuissituatie en een grillige voetbalwereld. Ajax, PSV en Feijenoord wilden hem hebben. Niet eerder werd er in Nederland een persoonlijk beeld gegeven van een jongen die op zo'n jonge leeftijd zijn eerste stappen zet op weg naar het topvoetbal en ook nog eens de potentie heeft om die top te bereiken. De film gaat komende maandag 14 mei in premiere in Filmtheater Rialto - dat is tevens het startschot voor een landelijke benefiettour van de film. In de aanloop naar het EK is door producent Bonanza Films i.s.m. HUMAN een benefiettour georganiseerd langs bioscopen in alle provincies van het land om de waarde van sport voor jeugd (ook als je het niet kan betalen) en het belang van talentbegeleiding te benadrukken. Bioscopen in Apeldoorn, Assen, Echt, Eindhoven, Enschede, Groningen, 's Heerenberg, Leeuwarden, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Zeist en Vlissingen vertonen de film. De entree van de benefietvertoningen bedraagt 5 euro en de opbrengst komt ten goede aan het Jeugdsportfonds. De zalen moeten dus vol. Graag had ik u mijn diensten aangeboden als script supervisor continuity. Ik ben als 29 jarige uit het Antwerpse niet bang voor een uitdaging. Ik verleg graag mijn grenzen en die van collega's (samenwerken en het beste uit iedereen halen om een mooi project te maken). Ik werk graag met deadlines en heb geen 9 tot 5 mentaliteit. Ik voel mij het beste in een creatieve omgeving waar ik mijn steentje kan bijdragen. Als teamspeler speel ik een belangrijke rol in het ondersteunen van productie en regie en zoek ik graag mee naar alternatieven/oplossingen. In mijn werk ben ik organisatiegericht, ordelijk, punctueel en ik werk graag met cijfers maar af en toe kleur ik graag buiten de lijntjes. Ik ben op zoek naar een afwisselende, uitdagende job met verantwoordelijkheid in een boeiende en dynamische omgeving. Hopelijk kan ik terecht in u team of bij collega's. Incubate calls on you to send in your film for the Open Film program 2012. The Incubate Open Film Program will be filled with sent in films only. In 2011 we did a call for films for the Open Source Film program. There was a tremendous response to this call. The films varied from hilarious animation films to independent documentaries to visual experiments. The result was an open source film program with independent and original films that fit very well in the diverse program of Incubate. The first Incubate Film Award This year we want the festival audience to be actively involved as well, by asking for their opinion about the films screened in the Open Film blocks. All visitors of the Open Film program will get the chance to vote for the films. The film that the audience deems best will receive the very first Incubate Film Award! Everyone can submit their film. With these entries, Incubate programs interesting blocks of film and then the audience gets the chance to 'like' the films screening in the Open Film Program. The film with the most likes wins the Incubate Film Award! We want to involve the Incubate audience actively in our festival. With social media like Twitter and Facebook we got the possibility to directly voice our opinion about everything, all the time. The casting of maker, curator, jury and audience is already history. With the development of the internet and social media, we all get the chance to play the part that fits us best. We can play the part of the maker and upload our video's to YouTube or Vimeo, or play the part of curator by selecting video's and creating a blog or channel. We can play the part of the jury by 'liking' a video, which may result in the video to go 'viral' and to be seen by a great amount of people. With the Incubate Open Film program, we create a similar situation within the festival.
