Presentaties van Eddy Terstall, Marc van Warmerdam en Machteld Aardse op de NBF netwerkborrel op maandag 27 februari Op maandag 27 februari vindt in SMART Project Space/LAB111 de maandelijkse NetwerkBorrel voor Film en tv (NBF) plaats met het thema 'Alternatieve financiering: status update'. Eddy Terstall komt vertellen over de uiteenlopende acties voor het financieren van zijn project Deal, Machteld Aardse zal het nog lopende succes van de financiering van het project Women of Waalo toelichten en Marc van Warmerdam zal meer komen vertellen over de nieuwe actie waarbij je als sponsor een schilderij van Alex van Warmerdam cadeau krijgt. Op deze manier zullen we vanuit het oogpunt van drie projecten die in een verschillend stadium van ontwikkeling zijn bekijken welke strategieën wel of niet succesvol zijn (gebleken). Inhoud programma In 2010 werd door de aangekondigde bezuinigingen duidelijk dat (film)makers dringend naar andere manieren van financieren moesten zoeken om een project van de grond te krijgen. In de IDFA themadag over alternatieve financieringsvormen die de NBF naar aanleiding hiervan organiseerde, kwamen verschillende methodes aan bod, onder andere crowdfunding en samenwerking met commerciële organisaties. Anderhalf jaar later maken we bij deze netwerkborrel de balans op. Aan de hand van de ervaringen van makers van projecten die gebruik hebben gemaakt van niet-traditionele funding zullen we nagaan hoe succesvolle projecten tot stand zijn gekomen en waarom minder succesvolle plannen niet het beoogde succes hebben kunnen behalen. Op deze manier proberen we erachter te komen welke tactieken en strategieen werken en welke juist beter achterwege gelaten kunnen worden. De projecten die aan bod komen zijn: DEAL (Eddy Terstall) - De film DEAL is een romantische komedie van de Amsterdamse regisseur Eddy Terstall (bekend van o.a. VOX POPULI, SIMON en DE BOEKVERFILMING). Na de succesvolle financiering is besloten om het script te herschrijven en er een lange speelfilm van te maken. Verschillende sponsoren hebben zich aangemeld en de speelfilm wordt realiteit. Door het opzetten van verschillende ludieke acties is de financiering rond gekomen, waar Eddy Terstall en Roel van de Weijer (Cinecrowd) meer over zullen komen vertellen. (project op Cinecrowd) WOMAN OF WAALO (Aida Grovestins & Machteld Aardse) - Documentaire-animatie film. Een vrouw wil de nieuwe president worden van Senegal. Wie is zij? Wat drijft haar? Een oud verhaal van ultiem verzet van haar overgrootmoeders is voor haar een grote bron van kracht om deze strijd aan te gaan. Het project kreeg via Cinecrowd binnen twee weken het maximale bedrag bij elkaar en staat op het internationale platform IndieGoGo op een tussenstand dan €6000,-. Een van de initiators Machteld Aardse zal toelichten hoe ze dit voor elkaar hebben gekregen en welke andere funding-strategieën er zijn toegepast. CAMIEL BORGMAN (Marc van Warmerdam) - in februari werd in de pers bekend gemaakt dat filmproductiebedrijf Graniet, onder leiding van broer en producent Marc van Warmerdam, een actie bedacht om de financiën voor de nieuwe film, getiteld Camiel Borgman, rond te krijgen. Wie de nieuwe film van Alex van Warmerdam met duizend euro sponsort, krijgt een echte Van Warmerdam cadeau. Marc van Warmerdam zal toelichten hoe de actie tot stand is gekomen.
