Golden Smile International Comedy Film Festival Bergen NH On Blue Monday, the third of January, the Golden Smile Film Festival starts in Bergen. An international festival screening the most difficult and challenging forms of film art. Comedy films from all over the world. From slapstick to feature films, silent films, sketches, short films, comedic documentaries—in short, all film forms that make us laugh. Humor unites; whoever can laugh at themselves and others enriches the world. Whoever makes others laugh makes the world more beautiful and safer. The festival is taking on 'Blue Monday', the gloomiest day of the year. Films from all continents will be screened at various locations in Bergen. The first edition of the event lasts a week and consists of film screenings and workshops. Some of the screenings will take place online or via streaming video. Comedy films ranging from very short (sketches) to feature-length films can register. There will be a separate registration/category for YouTube films. We are explicitly aiming for international entries. The festival website will therefore be multilingual. The first edition of the festival may take place during the coronavirus crisis. This offers a great opportunity to gain attention digitally (worldwide) as well. In addition, the municipality of Bergen has various locations where film enthusiasts can watch. The organizer is Publimix Media en Marketing from Bergen; owner Peter Bosman has his roots in the media and previously organized events such as the Freelance trade fair at the Jaarbeurs and 'Veelbelovende eerste pagina's'. A group of professionals and volunteers will be assembled for the festival. Our ambition is to eventually grow into the world's leading comedy festival. But we are starting modestly. During the festival, various activities take place, such as a pie-throwing workshop. Additionally, sponsors can promote themselves positively by offering prizes for specific film categories. This will likely remain modest for the first edition. You can register until December 31st. The only rule: make the audience laugh. You can register via the usual channels such as Filmfreeway. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, from 12:00 to 18:00, I will be showing two recent short films of mine at Open Atelier Gouda, as a guest filmmaker with visual artist Ruben van Veen.
