Rialto For Short: your own film on the big screen, February 18, edition 2, season 2019-2020. Rialto is the stage for innovative, high-quality, and independently produced cinema. This means that we also want to offer new, as-yet-undiscovered talent the chance to present their films here. Are you such a talent? Do you make films, music videos, commercials, or anything else yourself? And would you like to see your own film on the big screen? Then submit it for the edition of Rialto For Short on Tuesday, February 18, a program that gives emerging filmmakers the chance to show their work to the public and to film professionals. They will pass judgment on you. And… action! How does it work? • Submit your completed film no later than January 21. All films from all genres are welcome; • A jury of film professionals—this season consisting of Hesdy Lonwijk, Jeltje Hillen, and Valerie Jane—selects three films from all submissions; • On the evening of the screening, the audience, the jury, and the special guest decide who the winner of that evening is; • After three editions, the jury selects the best film from the previous winners. Your submission must meet the following criteria: • The film lasts no longer than 20 minutes; • The film was produced in the year 2018-2020 ; • If the film is not spoken in Dutch or English, please provide it with Dutch or English subtitles; • Please submit the film with a Vimeo or YouTube link; • You, or another crew member, will be present during the film night to answer questions about the film.
