Need a script consultant/dramaturge?

A good film starts with a good script. In the words of Hitchcock: "To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script." So it is definitely worth investing in the development of your screenplay. Whether for a short film, a feature film or a series. As a script editor/consultant I support you in the development of your screenplay. Are you stuck with your screenplay or do you want to know what else is needed to sharpen your story? I help you get your story (as an idea, synopsis, treatment or scenario) on paper as well as possible. I do this by carefully reading your work and looking at: * plot * Structure * Tension build-up * Character(s) and their development * Dialogue * Subtext * Credibility (not to be confused with realism) * Continuity * Bottlenecks But above all I look at what the story is that you want to tell. Does that come out in the best possible way? Personal attention and love for the story are always central! Options (depending on your wishes/needs): Careful analysis, extensive feedback, substantive suggestions and advice, extra pair of eyes, thinking along/brainstorming, concept development, critical questions, drafting a pitch deck, scene-by-scene script breakdown, proofreading, rewriting/editing, co-writing. I have extensive experience as a script editor/dramaturg and work as a freelancer together with producers, directors and screenwriters (including Topkapi Films, IDTV and The Film Kitchen). Scripts in Dutch or English. Rate depending on project. More information? Mail to [email protected]

Owen Kaat plays leading role in short film Uit Huis

Far More Pictures and Studio Betje & Wolff present Press release August 27, 2019 Owen Kaat plays the lead role in the short film OUT OF HOUSE. Uit Huis has been officially selected for the International Film Festival Film by the Sea from September 13 to 22 in Vlissingen. Moving Out is about the young, talented footballer Johan. However, he hasn't been feeling well lately. He is growing up with a mother who is addicted to alcohol and drugs, and those around him are worried. Youth Care is called in and gives him the opportunity to step out of this distressing situation so that he can develop further. A choice that is almost impossible to make. Moving Out is a beautiful, honest portrait. A sensitive and topical subject. There is news about troubled families almost daily. The story is based on an idea by Kees Vermeer and is rooted in true events. The shooting took place in May. It is remarkable that the film team worked on this production entirely voluntarily. Everyone was deeply moved by the subject. Owen Kaat – known for his roles in Steven de Jong’s *De Kameleon* series and the VPRO series *De Zeven Kleine Criminelen* – has managed to capture the role of Johan excellently despite his young age. Alongside Owen, Janneke Langerak and Charles de Vries (both known from the CAS-Zeeland short films) play leading roles, while Jesse de Vries, Ans Schilders, Mike van Dommelen, and Marco de Boy play fine supporting roles. Both producers Kees Vermeer and Bo van Scheyen are delighted that the short film will be screened at the upcoming Film by the Sea film festival. “We hope that this short film will be picked up by schools to use in the classroom to make a difficult subject like this open for discussion,” said both filmmakers. Title song “Take Me Home” by Sound of Lighthouse/Josie The film UIT HUIS is a remarkable fusion of emotions, fears, and daring to make choices. The title song “Take Me Home” was composed by Josie Kneepkens, who releases music for films and documentaries under the name Sound of Lighthouse. “‘Take Me Home’ came to me because for a long time I didn’t feel at home in this world,” Josie says candidly. “An odd duck.” But gradually I discover that it is coming home to yourself. “Take Me Home” is about the quiet space within that we all have, but sometimes think we have lost. That space where thoughts and fears dissolve instantly and hope and dreams have free rein to create the life we truly want, because in that space, anything can emerge. Sometimes it helps to get away for a while. To leave a situation, go to another country, or leave someone to reconnect with yourself. To make room for what you really want and what suits you. Even though that is not always easy. Producer Bo van Scheyen was immediately captivated by the sound and the song. "I knew we had found the title song of the film."
