Doc industry day during docfeed 2018

On Friday, February 23, 2018, the annual Doc Industry Day will take place during the DOCfeed festival in Eindhoven. This day offers an inspiring program for (emerging) film professionals and is an ideal networking opportunity. This year's theme is "Across the Border," and we explore the opportunities and challenges regarding international possibilities for documentaries. For instance, Jan Rofekamp discusses the importance of good opening scenes, and Niels van Koevorden delves into the journey a filmmaker goes through before producing a good film. But we also look at the opportunities that international co-production brings and how your film becomes a worldwide distribution success. It is a networking opportunity for new collaborations, as well as lectures and workshops offering information and perspectives on making and producing films. A day packed with interesting panel discussions and masterclasses by, among others, Jan Rofekamp (Films Transit), Rob Rombout (DOC Nomads), and Niels van Koevorden. During the speed dates, engage in conversation with experts and pitch your film plan. For example, you can discuss various financing options with the Filmfonds, Brabant C, and Creative Europe. Parmando TV and Films Transit will answer your questions regarding distribution possibilities. Van Osch Films and Witfilm will guide you through the world of international co-production. Dear readers, My name is Bente and I study at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. Together with my fellow students Moos and Lise, I am allowed to make a short documentary (around five minutes) about elderly people (50+) who are still dating or are dating again. We think it would be interesting to sit down with two or three elderly people and have a conversation with them in front of the camera, about how they experience dating and maybe even go on a date. We are of course open to consultation and the material shot will only be shown to our teachers and will not appear anywhere on the internet.
