Toos Koster

Filmmaker looking for challenging job

I like tackling, being busy. I am creative and driven. I like doing varied work. One day on the road for a shooting day, the next day working in the office to arrange things or edit. I often work as a camjo/one-man-crew. For the projects I do, I come up with the concept myself and develop it into a script, shot list and storyboard. On the shooting days I do the directing myself, and sometimes also the camera work. In addition, I organize meetings, maintain contact with actors, location managers, rental companies and third parties, take care of schedules, shooting schedules and call sheets. In addition to the production work, I am also often editing. I love seeing how everything eventually comes together into one whole. I also have experience as a graphic designer. I did an internship at Talpa and often designed posters, flyers, backgrounds for game shows, text cards, checks for various shows. Experiences Moving Images – At the Amsterdam Dance Event I attended a workshop made possible by Canon Netherlands, among others. During the opening in the Melkweg we filmed the artists backstage and the atmosphere in the room. I mounted the after-film from this material. https://vimeo.com/199711340 Ala Delphine – Delphine is a French presenter who is fascinated by tasty and healthy food. She moved to the Netherlands and fell in love with Amsterdam. Together we make short videos about the most unique restaurants in Amsterdam. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bnGqvddsy0 Trix – in the third year of my education I made a short comedy film about an operating system that takes over the life of a confused student. I wrote the script, did the production, directed during the shooting days and the editing. https://vimeo.com/199715963 Short film trip – After my education I decided to travel. One month in New Zealand and two months in Australia. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I also made a short video about this. It is a personal project to show friends exactly what I experienced. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV6KioGXTlE&t=27s Showreel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9zCdJhTUFs&t=9s I hope to find a video company with room to grow. Where people like to teach me things, inspire me and where I can do varied work. In addition, I can certainly appreciate a cozy atmosphere and the occasional game of ping pong. I prefer to find a full-time or part-time job. But I can also offer extra hands on an on-call basis during busy periods. I'm not ruling anything out.

Gripping feature film Broeders premieres at the NFF

The new feature film Broeders by Hanro Smitsman, starring Achmed Akkabi (Rabat), Walid Benmbarek (Infiltrant), and Bilal Wahib (Layla M), premieres on Saturday, September 23 at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht during the 37th edition of the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF). Broeders tells the story of two brothers who travel together to war-torn Syria in search of their youngest brother, an alleged Syria traveler. Current Topic The film is directed by the highly acclaimed director Hanro Smitsman, known for films such as Schemer, Eileen, and Skin. “Broeders addresses a very topical theme. I want to show that not all choices people make are by definition ideologically motivated. The film makes you aware of the personal backgrounds of behavior, makes choices understandable, and thereby offers a counterweight to overly simplistic judgments. Depending on the circumstances, victims can become perpetrators and vice versa,” says Smitsman. Story in short In Broeders, Hassan (Achmed Akkabi) and Mourad (Walid Benmbarek) travel to Syria to search for their youngest brother Yasin (Bilal Wahib). As they attempt to follow Yasin's trail through Jordan and Syria, Hassan and Mourad become unwillingly involved in the Syrian conflict. Will this bring the brothers closer together, despite confronting the horrors of war, or has the war inflicted irreparable wounds? Princess Rym Ali of Jordan on set visit Broeders was largely filmed in Jordan. Filming took place at many different locations, including the refugee camp in Azraq. The filmmakers received special permission from the United Nations for this. Additionally, the cast and crew received a visit on set from HRH Princess Rym Ali, a member of the Royal Film Commission of Jordan. Special public premiere On September 23, just before the official premiere, there will be a special public premiere of Broeders at Pathé Rembrandt cinema. Additionally, the film will be shown in the regular NFF program on Sunday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 27. Tickets for this are now available via www.filmfestival.nl. In cinemas from October Broeders is directed by Hanro Smitsman. The screenplay was written by Marc Linssen, Roeland Linssen, Alma Popeyus, and Hein Schütz. The film was produced by Corrino Drama, in co-production with BNNVARA and with support from CoBO. Broeders will be showing in Dutch cinemas starting in October and will be broadcast by BNNVARA on NPO2 in the spring.

Go Short - Inte...

Call for entry for Euro Connection 2018 is now open!

Go Short - International Short Film Festival Nijmegen Also this year, Go Short (NL) and International Short Film Festival Leuven (BE) will play the role of gatekeeper for Euro Connection, the largest and most important co-production platform for short films in Europe. Euro Connection takes place annually in February at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France and aims to promote co-production of short films in Europe. Go Short and International Short Film Festival Leuven (IKL) jointly preselect productions from the Netherlands and Flanders, and choose a project to nominate to the international jury in France. In the end, 17 producers pitch their project during Euro Connection. Dutch and Flemish producers of short films, animations and creative documentaries up to 40 minutes who are looking for a European co-financing partner are eligible to submit their project from 1 September 2017. An important condition is that a partial basic financing has already been arranged. Projects can be submitted until October 20, 2017. So be quick! From all entries, a committee composed by Go Short and IKL then selects one project to nominate to the international jury. This jury ultimately approves 15 projects. The selected producers are invited to pitch their project in Clermont-Ferrand and participate in the networking events. Producers of the selected projects that do not belong to the top are also guaranteed participation in Euro Connection and can expand their international network there.
