Directions - European Video Art Screenings #1 Highlights of European video art Immerse yourself for two days in an area where video art and cinema meet. In conversation with six artists, curator Lorenzo Benedetti (Director of de Appel) analyzes the influence of cinematic visual language on the artistic process of a video artwork. During the day, the work of seven artists can be viewed continuously and free of charge in a cinema setting: Ruben Bellinkx (Belgium), Rä di Martino (Italy), Salla Tykkä (Finland), Peter Aerschmann (Switzerland), Václav Magid (Czech Republic), and Astrid Nippoldt (Germany), supplemented by work specially selected by LIMA from Sebastian Diaz Morales (Argentina). Benedetti concludes each evening with artist talks in which he delves deeper into the work of three artists. The makers present additional work to illustrate the conversations.
