CAMJO Advanced Vocational Training

This training is an extension of the Camjo Professional Training, and is intended for anyone who has the basic knowledge and skills of the Camjo trade. This means that you must have completed at least the Vocational Training Camjo (parts 1 and 2) within Open Studio or have gained comparable experience elsewhere. The lessons take place in Dutch. The Vocational Training Camjo Part 3 requires the ability to work independently. We start with 2 teaching days in a row and have that again on October 30 and November 6. Furthermore, all classes are every other week. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity to work on concrete exercises and assignments. During the training there will also be guidance via email contact with the main lecturer. This will provide feedback on your film project. To this end, you can upload montage versions in the meantime via YouTube or Vimeo. As a final assignment, you independently make a 15-minute film.

Basic training directing, camera, editing

Does the Film & Television world appeal to you, but you are not yet sure what you would like to do most? Then get acquainted with all aspects of the profession and consider the Basic Training in Directing, Camera & Editing as the foundation for your next choice as a starting professional. The Basic Training is also literally the basis of all training and courses at Open Studio. The Basic Training is based on the principle that you should know at least something about all disciplines before you specialize in one or more disciplines. You will become acquainted with all the important parts of the profession and will also learn about the interdependence between production, directing, scenario, camera, light, sound, stage direction, interview technique and editing. In addition, attention is paid to the importance of cooperation and teamwork.

Professional directing

If you are creative and you have a passion for telling stories through moving images, the Vocational Training Directing is something for you. Within this vocational training you learn to tell a visual story in a creative way and with dramaturgical insight. A director has final artistic responsibility for a media production. Directing is not so much capturing reality as shaping your view and vision of that reality. This vocational training responds to the talent and creativity of the individual student, so that individuality as a film and television maker can be discovered and developed. A director must be able to convey his/her passion to others: producer, crew & cast, audience. What are the duties of a director? Which technique do you use? During this training, theoretical blocks and practical and technical exercises are used to discuss the basic skills that are necessary to be able to exercise directing as a professional. CAMJO vocational training

Camjo (Camera Journalist) is a production technique in which one person takes care of the entire development, recording and finishing (self-directing camera person). At Open Studio we like to see this broader than just news reporting: from product presentation to human interest, from oral history to online storytelling. If you want to develop into an all-round and independent program maker, the VAK Camjo training is a good starting point. The VAK Camjo training focuses on the fact that you are simultaneously an editor, director, cameraman/woman, soundman/woman, interviewer and editor. Professional training assembly

If you are visually and substantively strong and you are intrigued by the magic of editing, the Vocational Training in Editing is for you. You learn how to construct a story by skillfully using substantive and technical tools. An editor is ultimately responsible for editing in a media production. This vocational training is a practice-oriented training with extensive attention to operating technology and skills of assembly equipment. In addition, the course is also treated from a theoretical perspective. The theoretical blocks are richly illustrated with fragments and thus form the basis for practical exercises.
