Project david verbeek selected for 'when east meet

David Verbeek's feature film project Full Contact has been selected for the When East Meets West co-production forum in January 2014. The forum takes place in Trieste and is organized by the Trieste Film Festival and FVG Audiovisual Fonds in collaboration with EAVE and Eurimages. The focus of this When East Meets edition is on the Benelux. 22 projects were chosen from over 200 submissions. Full Contact is a topical story about a drone pilot trying to find a new purpose in life after accidentally bombing a school. In 2011, the project was one of the fifteen selected projects for the prestigious Cannes L'Atelier. At film school, David Verbeek made his debut film, Beat, for just 500 euros. The film was selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2004. His second feature film, Shanghai Trance, was in the Tiger Compettite at the IFFR, after which the film was selected for various international film festivals and received a theatrical release in China. With his third film, RU There, he was selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes. His last two films, Club Zeus and How to Describe a Cloud, both had their world premieres at the IFFR, where Verbeek received a 'Return of the Tiger' award for Club Zeus. Full Contact is produced by Lemming Film in co-production with Nukleus Film from Croatia. The project is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund as Oversteek Plus. Filming is scheduled for the spring of 2014 at various locations in Croatia.
