The successful family film *Midden in de Winternacht* by director Lourens Blok is heading to the Berlin International Film Festival in February and has thus been selected for the youth program Generation K-plus. With this selection for the youth program, *Midden in de Winternacht* stands a chance of winning the Crystal Bear, the award for the best international youth feature film. This award was previously given to *Kauwboy* (2012). Additionally, the film is also nominated for the 'Grand Prix of the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk' for Best Picture. *Midden in de Winternacht*, already seen by more than 200,000 viewers, is still showing in cinemas. Midden in de Winternacht was produced by Lemming Film in co-production with Svensk Filmindustri, Davaj Film, and Anchorage Entertainment. About the film A week before Christmas, ten-year-old Max (Dennis Reinsma) discovers that a moose has fallen through the barn roof. It is not just any moose. It is Moos (voiced by Jeroen van Koningsbrugge), who not only can talk but also works for Santa Claus (Derek de Lint) as a test pilot, before the reindeer do the real work. During the sleigh test flight, everything went terribly wrong, causing him to lose Santa. Moos will have to find Santa very quickly, because without Santa, no one gets presents. Max & Moos receive help in their search from their little sister Kiki (Dana Goldberg), but are also thwarted by the mean neighbor Panneman (Arjan Ederveen). Will they manage to find Santa?

Commissioned by the NTR Zaterdag Matinee, he worked on an opera about the philosopher Spinoza, which premiered at the Concertgebouw in the autumn of 2014. To Loevendie, Spinoza is first and foremost an Amsterdammer, just like him. As a teenager, Loevendie read Spinoza's work; although he didn't understand everything, 'it aligned perfectly with his own ideas on, among other things, freedom of speech'. We follow Loevendie during the creation process of the opera about Spinoza. There are scenes in his study, but we also accompany him on walks through Amsterdam, thus gaining a great deal of insight into his way of seeing and, above all, listening to the sounds of the city. Three times a day, he crosses Johannes Verhulststraat from his home to Café Welling, where he also performs regularly. We are at chance encounters with musicians, writers, and artists, where we look back with them on his rich life, in which post-war Dutch musical life is reflected. The process of writing the opera will run through it like a common thread. Theo Loevendie is not only a versatile artist whose life indeed spans half a century of Dutch music history, but he is also a particularly engaging and infectious person. It is actually surprising that there is no film yet about his life and artistry.
