I completed the Interactive Media Design program there, specializing in Animation. Visual effects and motion graphics are my thing, and I am always excited to work with them. I am strong in logo animations, animated infographics, compositing, editing, color correction, 3D and 2D footage tracking, and green/bluescreen keying. I have a good command of the Adobe CS suite, and particularly Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere. I also have knowledge of 3D packages (such as 3Ds Max or Cinema4D), which come in handy in any situation. Then get acquainted with all aspects of the profession and consider the Basic Training in Directing, Camera & Editing as the foundation for your next choice as a starting professional. The Basic Training is also literally the basis of all training and courses at Open Studio. The Basic Training is based on the principle that you should know at least something about all disciplines before you specialize in one or more disciplines. You will become acquainted with all the important parts of the profession and will also learn about the interdependence between production, directing, scenario, camera, light, sound, stage direction, interview technique and editing. In addition, attention is paid to the importance of cooperation and teamwork. The various disciplines are dealt with in a practice-oriented approach: Each component is concluded with a practical assignment in which the treated components come together. You practice in teams and the groups rotate in terms of composition and function so that you become acquainted with every aspect of a production. Personal preferences are taken into account as much as possible in the latest productions.

Vocational training in production management

If you are hard-working, organizationally strong and you have a passion for film, the Vocational Training Production Management is for you. Within this vocational training you learn to guide the film process and the specialists involved, both artistically and organizationally. A producer is involved in every phase of a film journey. This vocational training is, in accordance with the activities of a production manager, a very broad training. A production manager is involved in developing an idea in pre-production, but also in shooting during production and finishing the film in post-production. The production manager plays a role in each phase, which means that the program deals with both the artistic content and the practical organizational side of making a media production.

CAMJO Advanced Vocational Training

This training is an extension of the Camjo Professional Training, and is intended for anyone who has the basic knowledge and skills of the Camjo trade. This means that you must have completed at least the Vocational Training Camjo (parts 1 and 2) within Open Studio or have gained comparable experience elsewhere. The lessons take place in Dutch. The Vocational Training Camjo Part 3 requires the ability to work independently. We start with 2 teaching days in a row and have that again on October 30 and November 6. Furthermore, all classes are every other week. In addition, there is plenty of opportunity to work on concrete exercises and assignments. During the training there will also be guidance via email contact with the main lecturer. This will provide feedback on your film project. To this end, you can upload montage versions in the meantime via YouTube or Vimeo. As a final assignment, you independently make a 15-minute film.

CAMJO vocational training

Camjo (Camera Journalist) is a production technique in which one person takes care of the entire development, recording and finishing (self-directing camera person). At Open Studio we like to see this broader than just news reporting: from product presentation to human interest, from oral history to online storytelling. If you want to develop into an all-round and independent program maker, the VAK Camjo training is a good starting point. The VAK Camjo training focuses on the fact that you are simultaneously an editor, director, cameraman/woman, soundman/woman, interviewer and editor. Each skill is treated separately, both technically and substantively. Within this training we work with the program Final Cut Pro X during the editing block. For more information click below.

Documentary René Roelofs and Paul Scheffer about fifty

The film Land van komst (Land of Promise) by René Roelofs and Paul Scheffer is competing for the IDFA Award for Dutch Documentary at the 26th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. Inspired by Paul Scheffer's much-discussed book *Het land van komst* about immigration from the 1950s onwards, the filmmakers are now releasing a film and a three-part television series in collaboration with IKON and NTR. The film premieres on November 23 at IDFA 2013 and will be shown in Dutch cinemas starting November 28. Land of Promise by René Roelofs and Paul Scheffer shows how immigration from the 1950s to the present day has irreversibly changed Europe. The documentary provides an impressionistic view of that profound experience. The film is constructed entirely from archival footage—fragments of documentaries, reports, feature films, and news broadcasts—sourced from Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Great Britain. The archival footage speaks for itself: because no commentary has been added, a poignant picture emerges of how European societies have experienced and continue to experience modern immigration. The film focuses on the experiences of the migrants as well as the experiences of those who are already there. Newcomers and residents share the same sense of loss: a familiar world threatens to slip away from them. Large-scale immigration always brings conflict with it. For the filmmakers, however, these frictions are signs of integration, as they show the diverse answers to the question: how should we live together with all our differences? Land of Promise tells an uncomfortable, but ultimately hopeful story. René Roelofs directed more than 50 documentaries for television, including the Golden Calf-winning *Christmas in Floradorp* and the Golden Image-winning *Dutch Approach: The Moluccan Actions*. Paul Scheffer is Professor of European Studies, creator of TV series for VPRO, and author of *Het multiculturele drama* and *Het land van komst*. The film will be shown in Dutch cinemas starting November 28. The three-part series will be broadcast weekly on Sunday evenings on Nederland 2 on January 5, 12, and 19, 2014. Land van komst (Land of Promise) is an Interakt production in co-production with IKON and NTR.
