Ricky Rijneke's feature film debut Silent Ones has been selected for the 35th Moscow International Film Festival. The film will be screened in the official main program 'Minor Dutch Artists'. In 'Minor Dutch Artists', a small selection of Dutch films can be seen, including Borgman by Alex van Warmerdam, Dark Blood by George Sluizer, and Tricked by Paul Verhoeven. Moscow's festival director Kirill Razlogov has a particular interest in Silent Ones, he informed the film's producer Rotterdam Films. Russian composer Andrey Derchachev composed the music for Silent Ones and provided the film with a balanced and hypnotic soundscape. Andrey Dercachev became known with The Return (Golden Lion Venice) and The Banishment (Cannes award winner) by Russian director Andrei Zvyagintsev. Director Ricky Rijneke and composer Andrey Derchachev will introduce the screening of the film in Moscow. The lead role in Silent Ones is played by Hungarian actress and Berlinale shooting star Orsi Toth, who has appeared in Kornel Mundruczo's Delta (Cannes Fipresci Award) and Shirin Neshat's Women Without Men (Silver Lion Venice).
