The Dutch short youth film THE MOON OF ANOUAR has been selected for the Toronto International Children's Film Festival. The prestigious film festival for a select number of youth films from around the world takes place from April 9 to 21, 2013, in Canada. Director Michiel van Jaarsveld will attend the international premiere of this special children's film. The screenplay was written by Amarins Romkema, and the producer is IJswater Films in collaboration with the co-producing broadcaster NTR. ANOUAR'S MOON (25 minutes) tells the fairytale-like story of ten-year-old Iranian Anouar (Pedram Parastar), where the curtains at home in Amsterdam-West are closed day and night and his mother Mahvash (Mehrnoush Rahmani) is always in bed. To bring the light back into the house and comfort his little sister Sahar (Golda de Leon), Anouar decides to go get the moon for her. THE MOON OF ANOUAR was created as part of 'Nu of Nooit', a project by Z@pp and the Media Fund. Hello, My name is Awesta Darwesh, I am 24 years old, and I have completed the Audiovisual Designer program at the MBO (intermediate vocational education) level. I am currently looking for a full-time/part-time job or potential assignments. During my studies at Da Vinci College, I gained extensive experience in video and graphic design. Currently, I am thoroughly enjoying immersing myself in motion graphic design. In my final year of study, I worked on several major projects in the role of director/editor. One of those projects involved making a music video for Blaxtar (a rapper from Amsterdam). The Da Vinci College was so impressed by my talents and qualities that I was selected as the MBO Outstanding Student of South Holland South.
