Filmproject: De film speelt zich af in een toekomstige wereld waarin de mens sinds het begin van hun ontstaan een gewelddadig ras zijn geweest. In hun verlangen om macht konden ze technologisch niet verder ontwikkelen en stortte ze zichzelf op biologische vooruitgang. In deze tijd leeft onze hoofdpersoon die zijn verleden niet meer kan herinneren. Daarom gaat hij op reis om zijn verleden en daarmee zijn lot te achterhalen. Wij zoeken een figuranten tussen de 18 en de 30 jaar. Voor aankomende zaterdag zoeken we mannelijke figuranten die in een gevecht scene spelen ook zoeken we figuranten voor opnames in de toekomst deze bestaan uit gewone en/of vecht scènes. We zoeken figuranten die de uitdaging aan durft en er tijd voor heeft.

Greetings, Once and awhile at CAVIA we are slowly screening the best of Eric Rohmer's 6 MORAL TALES. So next Tuesday we will continue with this one which is totally appropriate for the winter season. This was one of the very first French films I ever saw (I was 16), and the one that made me fall in love with cinema...so I really look forward to this precious screening! I hope you can make it! - Jeffrey TUESDAY DECEMBER 15 Six contes moraux: III MA NUIT CHEZ MAUD (My Night at Maud's) Directed by Eric Rohmer 105 minutes In French with English subtitles French director Eric Rohmer, former critic and Cahiers du Cinema editor and one of the 5 principle creators of the French New Wave, created a very special film series around the difficult choices people make when they fall in love called "Six Moral Tales." My Night at Maud's was the third entry, and it was so well received in 1969 that it gave Rohmer international prominence. To this day, it remains Rohmer's masterpiece, a brilliantly insightful and sublime meditation on adultery. Jean-Louis Trintignant plays a chaste engineer who thinks he's met his soul mate in church (Marie-Christine Barrault), yet winds up accidentally spending the night with the seductive Maud, who is more his intellectual equal. Filmed in stark black and white by Nestor Almendros, this is one of those rare films in which questions about philosophy translate into unexpected answers about the heart. This film justifies Rohmer's reputation of slow pacing and almost non-stop dialogue, but also his fame as a great director. He does not have anything of the light joviality of his friends Truffaut and Godard, whose work is better known outside France. The picture is filmed almost as a documentary, being very realistic, and the opposite of 99% of all movies made these days. I hope you can make it to this screening of this wonderfully crafted film, which has an almost incandescent magic about it. This is what a 26 year old viewer wrote recently after seeing the film: "To my eyes, the mainstream - and I use the word loosely - cinema of the past 40 years (or perhaps 30) has been a constant regression. While the technology improves (and I use that term loosely as well, given the complete phoniness of most CGI), everything else has seen a marked decline. What was truly innovative about the films of the French New Wave was their life force, embodied by radical technique, new approaches to narrative, and naturalistic performances. The superficial aspects of the movement have been soaked up to be sure, but the classics still shock and provoke because what was really so important about them has been completely cast aside." Bride Flight wint in Luxemburg de Award voor Beste Internationale Coproductie. Tijdens de uitreiking van de 2-jaarlijkse Luxemburgse Filmprijzen heeft Jani Thiltges, producent en managing director van Samsa Film, vrijdagavond 4 december voor de film Bride Flight van Ben Sombogaart de Award voor Beste Internationale Coproductie in ontvangst mogen nemen. In 2007 werd deze Award vergeven aan de film Irina Palm en in 2005 aan The Girl with the Pearl Earring. De jury: For a fluently made and always involving classical melodrama with international appeal that integrates work on several locations including Luxembourg, and for a long-standing co-production relationship that has made the production of this international success possible. Na Bride Flight en de met een Oscar-genomineerde De Tweeling werken Hanneke Niens (KeyFilm) en Jani Thiltges momenteel voor de derde keer samen bij de productie van de film Silent City van Threes Anna (scenario en regie). Eerder maakte ze The Bird Can’t Fly. De opnamen van deze coproductie tussen Nederland, Ierland en Luxemburg staan gepland voor mei 2010. De film is een psychologisch portret van een jonge Europese vrouw, die afreist naar Tokyo om achter de geheimen te komen van de bijzondere wijze waarop men in Japan vis fileert en bereidt. Al snel slaat de eenzaamheid toe. De film komt tot stand met steun van het Nederlands Fonds voor de Film en de AVRO. Verwachte release: februari 2011. Distributie: A-Film. KeyFilm is in 2008 opgericht door Hanneke Niens en Hans de Wolf. Hanneke Niens was van 1999 – 2008 als producent en managing director werkzaam bij IDTV Film, dat ze samen met Anton Smit oprichtte. Producent Hans de Wolf was van 1990 – 2007 een van de grondleggers van Egmond Film en Televisie, voorheen Bergen. Meer dan 25 jaar ervaring in het produceren van (internationale) films resulteerde in meer dan 25 speelfilms (waaronder de Oscar-winnaar Antonia en de voor een Oscar-genomineerde film De Tweeling), 20 telefilms, en tientallen TV-dramaproducties, documentaires, dansfilms en korte films.
