FILM: SEARCHING FOR THE WRONG-EYED JESUS
Directed by Andrew Douglas
82 minutes
In English
This is a semi-documentary about going on the road down to the south of the United States and hear tales from the \"heart\" of america. Since the tour guide is Jim White there is quite a bit of weird music along the way and insightful tales being told. The cinematography is often surreal and poetic...its the kind of film where you just sit back and go on a very strange journey. The movie goes into the lives of the poor white community and what it reveals is touching, scary and sometimes just bewildering.
\"Take a captivating and compelling road trip through the creative spirit of the American South, a world of churches, prisons, coalmines, truckstops, juke joints, swamps and mountains. Along the way you\'ll meet musicians including The Handsome Family, Johnny Dowd, 16 Horsepower, and David Johansen, old time banjo player Lee Sexton, and novelist Harry Crews. This film is a collage of stories and testimonies filled with sudden death, sin and redemption...\"
