CAMJO Year Training

Camjo (Camera Journalist) is a production technique in which one person takes care of the entire development, recording and finishing (self-directing camera person). At Open Studio we like to see this broader than just news reporting: from product presentation to human interest, from oral history to online storytelling. If you want to develop into an all-round and independent program maker, the Camjo Training is a good starting point. Within this training you choose Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro before starting the editing block. The Camjo Training focuses on the fact that you are simultaneously editor, director, cameraman/woman, soundman/woman, interviewer and editor. Each skill is treated separately, both technically and substantively.

VAK training Assembly

If you are visually and substantively strong and you are intrigued by the magic of editing, the Vocational Training in Editing is for you. You learn how to construct a story by skillfully using substantive and technical tools. An editor is ultimately responsible for editing in a media production. This vocational training is a practice-oriented training with extensive attention to operating technology and skills of assembly equipment. In addition, the course is also treated from a theoretical perspective. The theoretical blocks are richly illustrated with fragments and thus form the basis for practical exercises. During these exercises it is made clear that the central idea of a production is guiding for the approach of the editor.

CAMERA PROFESSIONAL training

If you are visually oriented and want to learn how to work professionally with the camera, the Vocational Training Camera is for you. You learn to tell a story with the camera by making skilful use of design and technique. A cameraman/woman is ultimately responsible for the image in a media production. Within the course, the content of images, visual language and storytelling with the camera is central. From a theoretical framework, which is broadened and deepened during the course, camera technique, camera and program styles and recording procedures are discussed. You learn to articulate style and vision with regard to recording and ultimately translate it into visual language. In addition, attention is paid to functioning as a self-directing cameraman and working under direction.

Summer scenario documentary

If you like to write and if you usually get your inspiration for a story from everyday reality, then this Summer Course Screenwriting Non-fiction is something for you. In this course you will learn how to draw up and develop a screenplay for a documentary according to certain working methods. In this course we go through phases in the writing process of a screenplay for a documentary; finding a useful idea and an interesting angle. The dramatic principles that make the story fascinating, finding main characters and working out a story structure and design. Attention is also paid to visual writing: the reader of the screenplay must be able to see the documentary in front of him. In addition, the special position of the screenwriter is discussed. A screenwriter works closely with the producer/client and/or director.

Summer adobe after effects

If you want to master the professional motion-graphic program After Effects from Adobe in a short and intensive setup, then this course is for you. Within this course you will learn to thoroughly understand the software package. In the practical room, each student has his own computer with a recent version of After Effects installed so that the student can also follow the explanation projected on a large screen on his own screen. This crash course is given with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 participants.

Summer camjo camera / mounting

Do you already work or do you want to get started as a camera journalist or self-directing cameraman and you want to improve your camera and editing skills, then this combination course is for you. Within the discipline of camjo, this course focuses specifically on camera control and editing. This is a 2 summer week course. As a camjo you are director, interviewer, soundman and cameraman at the same time, so it is nice if the camera control goes by itself. The technology and operation must not be a stumbling block during production. In the current media landscape, the versatility of the program maker is increasingly called upon. In addition to being able to film independently, being able to edit yourself is considered a huge plus.

Each tape is therefore provided with a printout and report. Various lengths are available: 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute tapes. As a camera operator, you determine the atmosphere of a program. Through the camera choices you make, you ensure that the TV program has the look and feel it requires.
