Timber on the road
From 2 March to 2 September 2012, a collaborative project will take place between 6 mentally challenged artists from art center Kijkoor and 6 artists from the collective Gooische Kunst.
Participating artists of Kunstcentrum Kijkoor are: Frank Bijl, Paul Leeuwis, Peep Arlar, Melissa Schrijver, Mary Lou Illaria and Anouk Barreau.
Gooische Kunst: Robin Jongerden, Willem van Spronsen, Hanke Wiegand, Vera Bruggeman, Joeri Calis and Elize van der Werff.
The aim of the project is to increase the reputation of the art center and to establish a lasting collaboration between different artists (groups).
This unique collaboration offers the artists of Kijkoor the opportunity to gain new experiences together with artists from outside and to work from within the art center to the outside.
This eventually leads to an exhibition in the Kijkoor gallery. This exhibition will be opened in a spectacular way on Sunday 2 September 2012 by a special guest and in comms Gerard Beentjes, village poet and live music.
The entire buddy journey is filmed by Robin Jongerden and Joeri Calis, leaving a documentary of this collaboration.
