Camjo Year Training

Camjo (Camera Journalist) is a production technique in which one person takes care of the entire development, recording and finishing (self-directing camera person). At Open Studio we like to see this broader than just news reporting: from product presentation to human interest, from oral history to online storytelling. If you want to develop into an all-round and independent program maker, the Camjo Training is a good starting point. The Camjo Training focuses on the fact that you are simultaneously editor, director, cameraman/woman, soundman/woman, interviewer and editor. Each skill is treated separately, both technically and substantively.

TV Presentation 1

Presenting in front of the Camera is much more than just reading a text. During the TV Presentation for the Camera 1 course you will become familiar with the camera and you will become acquainted with different presentation styles. The teachers, Wim van Putten, Pauline van Aken and Marc van Amstel have a radio and TV background at TROS, TV10, SBS6, TMF, MTV and RTV Utrecht! All presentations are recorded on your own DVD.

Adobe After Effects

If you want to master the professional motion-graphic program After Effects from Adobe in an extensive and intensive setup, then this course is for you. Within this course you will learn to thoroughly understand the software package. In the practical room, each student has his own computer with a recent version of After Effects installed so that the student can also follow the explanation projected on a large screen on his own screen. This crash course starts with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 participants.

Registration for SCENECS Film Festival is open

Dear Filmmaker, Registration for the international debut film festival SCENECS in Amersfoort and Hilversum is open. New film and documentary makers can register their first and/or second production(s). During the festival, participants can screen their productions, participate in many educational activities and further expand their network within the film industry. If your production is selected, it automatically enters the competition in the fiction and documentary category and has a chance to win the official SCENECS Award, The Dutch Golden Stone. The jury consists of established names from the film industry. You can register your production until 15 July 2012 via the online registration form, which can be found at www.scenecs.nl. Vocational training Scenario

In this Vocational Training you will learn the basics of writing for audiovisual productions. A screenwriter comes up with a concept for a story and then develops it into a screenplay, a visual story. This vocational training teaches you the necessary skills for developing scenarios for drama, documentary and commissioned film. A screenwriter creates a story from scratch. Curiosity, creativity and inventiveness are necessary for this, but also skill to translate this into a film plan. The learning of that skill occurs in 4 blocks, based on fragments, theory and program forms. Orientation year Film Academy & HKU

Every year, many more students apply to the various academies than there are training places. In the Orientation Year you prepare thoroughly for the admission procedure so that you can make a motivated choice for a study program and a discipline. The education has an experimental and investigative character in which one's own creativity is stimulated. The Orientation Year focuses much more on gaining insight than on acquiring knowledge and experience. The lessons always consist of a short theoretical introduction, but more than half of the time you are involved in practical activities: learning by doing.
