You learn how to construct a story by skillfully using substantive and technical tools. An editor is ultimately responsible for editing in a media production. This vocational training is a practice-oriented training with extensive attention to operating technology and skills of assembly equipment. In addition, the course is also treated from a theoretical perspective. The theoretical blocks are richly illustrated with fragments and thus form the basis for practical exercises. During these exercises it is made clear that the central idea of a production is guiding for the approach of the editor.

Camjo (Camera Journalist) is a production technique in which one person takes care of the entire development, recording and finishing (self-directing camera person). At Open Studio we like to see this broader than just news reporting: from product presentation to human interest, from oral history to online storytelling. If you want to develop into an all-round and independent program maker, the Camjo Training is a good starting point. The Camjo Training focuses on the fact that you are simultaneously editor, director, cameraman/woman, soundman/woman, interviewer and editor. Each skill is treated separately, both technically and substantively.

Camera training

If you are visually oriented and want to learn how to work professionally with the camera, the Vocational Training Camera is for you. You learn to tell a story with the camera by making skilful use of design and technique. A cameraman/woman is ultimately responsible for the image in a media production. Within the course, the content of images, visual language and storytelling with the camera is central. From a theoretical framework, which is broadened and deepened during the course, camera technique, camera and program styles and recording procedures are discussed. You learn to articulate style and vision with regard to recording and ultimately translate it into visual language. In addition, attention is paid to functioning as a self-directing cameraman and working under direction.

Various presenters from RTL, SBS, and BNN have gone before you, so why not you! As a presenter, you know that your presence partly determines the success of the program. You are the face. The calling card. To optimize this, there is now the television presentation training. You must possess the right techniques (including using a teleprompter). For each program, you make hundreds of choices, but what is actually the right one? Where do you place the emphasis? What is your posture? Do you come across as credible to the viewer? These and many more important facets are trained and fine-tuned. If you have completed TVCollege's basic presentation course or already have some experience presenting for TV, TVCollege offers you an intensive follow-up training. Because a maximum of five participants are admitted, there is personal attention for your specialty, for example: news presentation or interview technique.
