Important website for film professionals renewed

Filmstart.nl, the largest website for the film world in the Netherlands, launched its improved homepage with a new design last weekend. The revamped version of the well-known starting point for the film industry provides a clear overview of a number of essential film and TV platforms. In addition, the site developers implemented various features of Filmpeople.nl, the online network of Dutch filmmakers, which Filmstart had also previously joined. "We have made adjustments to the design to better accommodate all the innovations of recent years. At the same time, we have kept the tried-and-tested formula intact and changed little about the concept," says the project manager. "Visitors can use FIlmpeople services: read film news, consult the guide, and post messages on the various FIlmpeople platforms." Film Industry Guide In addition, Filmstart.nl has separated the Filmstart Industry Guide, launched earlier this year, from its own Filmstart.nl homepage to make navigation within Filmstart's expanding content more transparent. The guide will thus continue under its own name: the Film Industry Guide (FIG) at the URL www.filmindustryguide.nl. Filmstart now primarily serves as a homepage again, which is also the purpose for which the site was founded 10 years ago. About Filmstart Filmstart has been the most popular place for Dutch film and TV makers on the Internet since 1999. The site aims to promote communication for film professionals via the internet. Filmhuis Den Haag

Nino Rota program in the Dutch Film Theaters

To mark the hundredth birthday of Italian film composer Nino Rota, Filmhuis Den Haag is organizing a program of films for which Rota wrote the music, which can be seen in 17 cinemas nationwide. Virtually everyone recognizes Nino Rota's work upon hearing it: the well-known Love Theme from The Godfather (Francis Ford Coppola) and that of Romeo and Juliet (Franco Zeffirelli), for example, or the unparalleled music from the Fellini films La Strada, La Dolce Vita, and Il Casanova. In addition, Rota composed for directors such as Luchino Visconti (Rocco ei suoi fratelli, Il Gattopardo) and René Clément (Plein Soleil). His work is of impeccable musical quality; these are autonomous compositions that hold their own without the accompanying film images. One could even argue that without Rota's contribution, the films for which he wrote the music would have become less great masterpieces. For more information, see: www.filmhuisdenhaag.nl The Nino Rota program can be seen in: Film House The Hague November 17 to December 14, 2011 (The Godfather can be seen from November 10) Chassé Cinema, Breda January 8 to 29, 2012 Concordia Cinema, Enschede December 11, 2011 to January 31, 2012 Film Barn Haarlem December 5, 2011 to February 20, 2012 Focus Filmtheater, Arnhem December 1, 2011 to January 26, 2012 ForumImages, Groningen December 12, 2011 to January 3, 2012 Film Theater Hilversum January 3 to February 14, 2012 Film Theater 't Hoogt, Utrecht December 16, 2011 to January 8, 2012 Filmhouse De Keizer, Deventer December 5, 2011 to February 24, 2012 The Boiler House, Amsterdam January 12 to 25, 2012 LantarenVenster, Rotterdam November 20, 2011 to January 22, 2012 The Blessed Virgin, Amersfoort December 6, 2011 to February 21, 2011 Lumière Cinema, Maastricht January 2 to February 27, 2012 Lux, Nijmegen December 6, 2011 to January 24, 2012 Plaza Futura, Eindhoven December 28, 2011 to January 13, 2012 Verkade Factory, 's-Hertogenbosch January 11 to February 1, 2012

Bkkc Brabantske...

KONKAV makes av visible. Who makes KONKAV visible?

Create a profile on KONKAV, submit a proposal by November 28, win €7,500, and make the one and only KONKAV viral! The audiovisual sector in Brabant is large, creative, strong, and unique. But this sector is also invisible. That is why the province, the Brabant Centre for Art and Culture (bkkc), Playgrounds, and AVEC Brabant are developing a platform where all organizations, businesses, education, and makers come together. The name of the platform is KONKAV | audiovisual platform brabant. From the field, for the field. KONKAV makes it invisible. Pitch KONKAV is for students, film and documentary makers, and creative AV agencies, but also for advertising agencies that often commission filmmakers, and for companies that would like a film to translate their annual report, future plans, instructions, or products into moving images. Clients in a different way. To inform the business community and clients about KONKAV, the bkkc, in collaboration with the Province of North Brabant, is launching a pitch for the best viral. The viral that ensures the aforementioned clients find their way to www.konkav.nl and use this website whenever they want to do 'something with AV'. Looking for the best viral The bkkc is looking for advertising agencies, communications agencies, freelancers, filmmakers, and all other AV creatives from Brabant to devise a viral campaign to bring KONKAV to the attention of the described target audience. The proposal for the viral may only be submitted by a company, organization, institution, or freelancer based in North Brabant and part of this AV sector. The goal of the viral is to inform as many different clients as possible about the existence of KONKAV and all that you can do with KONKAV. Companies can only participate in the pitch if they have created a profile on KONKAV themselves before the pitch closing date. Jury The jury that selects the best proposal consists of Freek van 't Ooster (Province of North Brabant), Project Leader Jenneke Harings (bkkc), Senior Project Leader Iduna van de Ven (bkkc), Bas van Hout (Account Manager The Cre8ion.Lab), Leon van Rooij (Director Huis voor Beeldcultuur and Playgrounds Festival), and Jeroen Veldkamp (Veldkamp Producties). The jury will choose the winner of the pitch on November 29, which is scheduled to be executed in the spring of 2012. Launch On December 1, the winner will be announced during the launch of KONKAV in Breda. The launch takes place during the final networking event of AV broker Freek van 't Ooster at Het Huis voor Beeldcultuur in Breda, which will also be officially opened on that day. Additional information More information about KONKAV, this pitch, and the competition rules can be found at www.bkkc.nl/konkav.
