Youth film about the fourth musketeer d'artagnan

The true story of the famous fourth Musketeer d'Artagnan, who died in the Netherlands, serves as the basis for the new thrilling youth film 'The Sword of D'Artagnan'. Producers Elbe Stevens and Patrick Oliemeulen of Lake Productions, and Harro van Staverden and David Jan Bijker of Bijker Film en TV have joined forces for this project. The screenplay is being written by Tijs van Marle, who was nominated for a Golden Calf this year for his film 'Bon Voyage'. 'The Sword of D'Artagnan' centers on four teenagers who set out to find the never-recovered body of the fourth and most famous musketeer, D'Artagnan. During their search, they stumble upon a society that carries a mysterious secret. Musketeer D'Artagnan belonged to the personal guard of the French King Louis XIV and successfully led many top-secret operations on the king's orders. D'Artagnan died on the battlefield on June 25, 1673, during the Siege of Maastricht in the Netherlands. His character, romanticized by Alexander Dumas, plays the lead role in the new 3D film adaptation 'The Three Musketeers', which is currently enjoying a successful run in cinemas worldwide. 'The Sword of D'Artagnan' is being filmed entirely in Limburg. Production company Bijker has previously filmed productions in Limburg, including the thrilling historical youth series 'Tien torens diep' (AVRO and L1). Bijker is currently filming 'Achtste-groepers huilen niet' by Limburg children's author Jacques Vriens. Production company Lake Productions, closely involved in the founding of 'Cinesud', produced the large-scale short film 'Anatole' this year, starring Derek de Lint. The screenplay is original and written by Tijs van Marle, known for, among others, Doctor Cheezy, Body Language, Spion van Oranje, Shouf shouf de serie, and Zombibi. www.bijker.tv www.elbestevens.nl
