"Masterclass Documentary by Roy Dames, winner of the Sound and Vision Award 2010, culture category" The interest group for the film, audiovisual and multimedia sector in Rotterdam, Het Initiatief, is organizing a Masterclass Documentary. Anyone who is already working, or has the ambition to work in the Rotterdam audiovisual sector, can register via [email protected]. Note: registration is required! The masterclass will take place on Wednesday 21 September 2011, led by documentary maker Roy Dames. Based on his own work, he discusses how to make a documentary, what kind of obstacles you can expect and how to deal with them. The program will broadly consist of an introduction, choice of subject, working method and moral dilemmas during filming. During a presentation lasting approximately 2.5 hours, Roy Dames will try to convey his passion and enthusiasm for the profession to the participants and motivate them to convert their creative thoughts into action. Short Biography Roy Dames Born in Heemskerk. He has been working as a producer since 1986 TV documentaries and from 1993 as a producer/director. He produced and made many TV documentaries (series) about social and societal issues from a "human interest" approach. For his documentaries he tries to show what is normally not shown. His films have a shooting period of many years, which means that a bond of trust develops between Dames and his characters. He collaborates with almost all Dutch public broadcasters and the commercial channels SBS6, Net 5 and foreign channels such as BBC, SDR (Germany), ORF (Austrian TV). Films by Dames include 'Ik ben Mohammed' (2005, in collaboration with the NPS, about young Moroccan men in Rotterdam, nominated for the Golden Calf at the Netherlands Film Festival 2005), 'Ruud and Ria, until death do us part' (2002, in collaboration with the NPS) and 'Meiden van de Keileweg' (1999, in collaboration with Net 5, series about the life of street prostitutes in Rotterdam). With his film 'Foute Vrienden' he won the Image and Sound Award 2010, category culture. Auditions of cabaret education: September 30

Small art training De Kip De Kip is a part-time practical training and runs from October to March. An evening-filling performance is made under the intensive supervision of a director and pianist. A performance consists of 20 separate acts or songs and is played in 8 theaters in the Netherlands. It is rehearsed 13 times. The total guidance per person is 18 days. Learning a lot from each other and the audience and meanwhile keeping each other's engines going. You can grow in the direction that suits you, that is right and that brings out the best in you. The group is your support during rehearsals, but also your audience. What do you learn at De Kip - Writing your own material - You discover your own strength and specific talent year after year - You develop a theater personality - You learn that humor and content go hand in hand - You learn to make something from 'nothing' - You learn how to interact with a room - Improvisation vocals - You learn to play a full hall - You make flying hours, also outside the theater walls in business The Chickens also get the opportunity to play outside the theaters in business.
