experienced producer I have been working in television since 2005, started as a production assistant, eventually became producer and production manager at EO Jongeren and responsible for the production of various Netherlands 3 programs. These were both studio and ENG programs. I worked as a producer at JONG, 40 Days Without Sex, 3Doc and 3 on stage. In addition, I have done various separate (stand alone) projects. From Wedding Planner to Item Direction and from organizing a birthday surprise party including lip dub with 60 day guests to accompanying Carice van Houten during the Rembrandt Awards. I have been responsible for large budgets for television productions of up to a few hundred thousand euros, I have created endless scenarios and schedules for both short and multi-day productions, I have supervised, booked and signed contracts for presenters and artists, and I have worked with 700 NS technicians to to make a company film on/before a Christmas event.

Stephen King film adaptation Stopover on NFF

A new Dutch film adaptation of Stephen King's work is a reality. Director Jan van Gorkum (27, from Loon op Zand) bought the rights to the short story Rest Stop a year ago for the symbolic sum of 1 Dollar, and the short film Tussenstop is now the end result. The film is a so-called Dollar Baby, a well-known initiative by Stephen King, through which he offers aspiring filmmakers the opportunity to adapt his short stories. Stopover is about a man who makes a stop at a restroom along a highway during a nighttime drive. There, he witnesses a violent argument. The man hesitates about whether or not to intervene, while the argument spirals increasingly out of control. The main roles are played by Yorick Zwart, Ellik Bargai, and Guus Boswijk. The film will premiere to the public at the Netherlands Film Festival in September and has been selected for the Debut Competition at the festival. Jan Smit in the bombardment

Jan Smit makes his acting debut. The 25-year-old singer has the leading role in the film Het Bombardement, about the German air raid on Rotterdam in 1940. He reveals this in AD on Saturday. Smit will play amateur boxer Vincent de Graaf, who is central to the film. He calls it 'an opportunity far too good to pass up', even though he initially had his doubts. "I was very honored that they wanted me without having to audition, but immediately thought: does Jan Smit fit as a hero in a war film? I thought it was a crazy idea," the singer admits in the newspaper. However, after a good conversation with director Ate de Jong and producer Paul Ruven, the Volendammer changed his mind. "'Bring it on' I thought when I read the beautiful script. I'm just going to do it." Smit has to spend a lot of time in the gym in the coming months in preparation for his role. The shooting of Het Bombardement will start in 2012 and will be released in cinemas around Christmas of that year.
