Ilja van der Laan
Director driver
Ir/Madam,
Since September 1, 2010 I worked as a branch manager at a small car rental company in Gorinchem. Unfortunately, due to reorganization, my position has been lost. This is why I am looking for a new challenge.
In 1998 I started my career at a large car rental company at my then location in Gouda and have enjoyed building my career there to eventually become a branch manager. After 5.5 years of working with great pleasure at this organization, I was unfortunately forced to leave due to the bankruptcy of the entire organization.
Unfortunately, during the period of my departure there were no suitable vacancies available on the labor market in a comparable position and since I am not the waiting type, I went looking for a completely new challenge and decided to take the path of executive driver.
In practice, this turned out to be a somewhat more difficult choice than initially thought, so I decided to start for myself as an independent entrepreneur and create my own opportunities.
This turned out to be the right choice as I hired myself out to companies as an executive driver with great success. After working as an independent entrepreneur for 3 years, I received a great offer to work for an employer.
This Offshore organization where I started in August 2006 specialized in laying oil and gas pipelines at sea. I have been able to drive for the operational director, the commercial director and the general director/owner at this organisation. In addition, I was a facility employee at home and abroad for this organization.
As you can read, my ambitions lie in a responsible position in which I come into contact with people and make use of our Dutch road network. Quality and service are of paramount importance to me and I will strive for this at all times.
In addition, I am driven, enthusiastic and motivated in character and I possess organizational as well as technical and computer skills that can be expected in today's job market.
I like to stay informed about everything that is new in the industry in which I work. I also like to continue to develop myself. I'm certainly someone with ambitions, but I'm never afraid to get my hands dirty.
Given my individual developments in recent years and my work experiences as a branch manager, executive driver, facility employee, independent entrepreneur, branch manager, counter rental employee and hiker, I am convinced that I could be an asset to your organization.
I would like to come and explain my interests in your organization, as well as my Curriculum Vitae. So I hope to hear from you soon.
Yours faithfully,
