The National Film Festival for School Students

The NFFS (National Film Festival for School Students) will hold its sixth edition on September 20, 2010, at the Agora Theater in Lelystad. Over 900 secondary school students aged 12 to 18 submitted more than 160 self-made films, including a 3D film. During the festival day, intended for students and their teachers, all films will be screened and more than 60 workshops will be offered by professionals from the film and television world. The 166 films, submitted by 51 schools, are judged in four categories: animation, live-action fiction, live-action non-fiction, and 1-minute film. The winners are selected by an expert jury. This consists of permanent jury members actress Johanna ter Steege (Last Conversation, Guernsey), director Eddy Terstall (Vox Populi, Simon), and director and screenwriter Maria Peters (Radeloos, Kruimeltje). The jury is assisted by young actors Sylvia Hoeks (Vuurzee, De Storm), Martijn Lakemeier (winner of the 2009 Golden Calf, Oorlogswinter), and Sallie Harmsen (Het Paard Van Sinterklaas, Het Echte Leven). The awards are presented during the festive closing night of the festival. The winners represent the Netherlands at the International Film Festival for Youth: Camera Zizanio. Young talent The various winners from last year prove that the NFFS is a breeding ground for young talent. Nick Golterman and Dyon Verkruijssen from Nieuwegein, winners in the live action fiction category for grades 5-6, are participating again this year with a 3D film for the first time at the festival: World War 3D. Juriaan Kamps and Daan Zeestraten from Leiden won the Lelystad Parenthical last year on the occasion of the festival's anniversary. Under professional guidance, they made the film 1 DAG, which is part of this year's DELTA Shorts competition program at Film by the Sea in Vlissingen. New this year The NFFS is an initiative of passionate teachers from Lelystad who want to encourage young people to make films. The festival itself is constantly evolving and is presenting several new components this year. For instance, the NFFS is organizing an online festival, the NOFFS (National Online Film Festival for School Students). Individual young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who have made a film themselves were able to upload it. The films compete for the Online Award, which is presented at the NFFS. A special program is also offered to primary school students, who will spend a morning or afternoon watching various festival films and making a short film themselves. BUTFF 2010: everything but ordinary films

Programma BUTFF 2010 is bekendgemaakt. Vanuit Italie komt Francesco Campanini, wiens film Solitario (2008) haar Nederlandse premiere zal beleven.
