Movie night with Frans Bromet on 20 October

MOVIE NIGHT October 20, 2010 Studio Bromet, the course and training institute for anyone who has the ambition to become a (better) program maker, regularly organizes film evenings. The following evening has the theme: YOUTH & DOCUMENTARIES During the evening there will be a pre-premiere of Life between 2 houses: Merel, a youth documentary for NCRV Dokument Junior that will premiere on October 24 during Cinekid. Frans Bromet talks in Life between 2 houses with Merel about her life between two houses and about the choices she has to make. He gives her a camera to record her life herself. Merel and her family will also be present at the film night. After the screening Frans will talk about filming with children and there will be an opportunity to ask him or Merel questions. After the break, Lucas Westerbeek and Mirna Ligthart speak. They are the founders of the De fresh look foundation and will talk about their film projects with young people. The Fresh Look Foundation offers film and media literacy projects that revolve around 'learning to look'. Mirna and Lucas talk about their experiences in class and will show many fragments from films that they make together with young people. There will also be a pre-premiere of the film Standplaats Prachtwijk - video messages from Bos & Lommer (Amsterdam). They made this film together with the students of group 7 of a primary school from a deprived area in Amsterdam. (see defrisseblik.nl / standplaatsprachtwijk.nl). IDFA 2010 is about to start. From November 17 to 28 in, among others, the Tuschinski Theater and the Pathé de Munt in Amsterdam. We are looking for moderators again this year. Moderators provide the Q&A (questions and answers) after a screening. A good moderator loves documentaries, has strong communication skills and guides the dialogue between maker and audience. The IDFA is an international festival so all Q&As are in English. We prefer moderators who work at least six shifts (morning, afternoon or evening).
