Actors Robert de Hoog and Hanna Verboom play the lead roles in a feature film about Joran van der Sloot. The English-language film Me & Mr Jones tells the fictional story of an undercover journalist (De Hoog) who goes looking for Natalee Holloway five years after her disappearance. He hopes to force a breakthrough by breaking into Van der Sloot's house and then makes a shocking discovery. Verboom plays a woman who does not have long to live and who works with the undercover journalist. Actor Robert de Hoog won a Golden Calf two years ago for his role in the film Skin and will soon be seen in Schemer, which is also inspired by true events. Hanna Verboom became known for, among other things, the series De Co-Assistent. The film was shot on Aruba between April and June. The director is Paul Ruven. During the shoot, 22-year-old Van der Sloot made the news again, this time because he is suspected of the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in Peru. He has been detained for this ever since in the Peruvian Miguel Castro Castro prison in Lima. This case is also incorporated into Me & Mr Jones. The producer is Talent United; the distributor is BFD. The film was developed with the artistic director of the Netherlands Film Fund, Jan Eilander. The film will premiere in early 2011.

Film by the Sea opens its twelfth edition on Friday evening, September 10, with the Dutch premiere of the film The American by Anton Corbijn. The film is based on the bestseller A Very Private Gentleman by Martin Booth. The lead roles are played by George Clooney, Thekla Reuten, Violante Placido, Paolo Bonacelli, and Johan Leysen. Jack (George Clooney), a specialist gunsmith and occasional user, is a master of his craft. When a job in Sweden goes worse than expected, he travels to his contact Pavel (Johan Leysen) in Rome. He decides to go into hiding for the time being in a small Italian mountain village. There, he meets a priest (Paolo Bonacelli) and a prostitute, Clara (Violante Placido), with whom he also becomes friends. He is also asked to make a weapon for a new client, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten). Influenced by his new friendships, Jack decides that this will be his last assignment. The film won 23 awards, including five BIFAs, and was nominated for a BAFTA. The American is Corbijn's second feature film. The audience grew from 10,000 visitors in 1999 to nearly 45,000 in 2009, making Film by the Sea the largest cultural event in Zeeland. Hello everyone. For a non-profit video event, I am creating a video installation in which faces are projected onto statues. I have found actors for the two faces, and I want to have a lifelike statue (bust) made of them, approximately life-size. The faces of the statues should not be too detailed to make the movement in the projections appear fluid. See image. From October 8 to 17, 2010, the 6th edition of the Shoot Me Film Festival (SMFF) will take place in The Hague. Under the motto Anywhere Cinema, the SMFF screens international independent films combined with live music at surprising locations throughout the city. The first names have been announced: a focus on internationally acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn, the Dutch premiere of Felixs Machines from London, Polish film and animation combined with music by Chopin, and a cinematic encounter with the Antilles. Anton Corbijn Retrospective Photographer and filmmaker Anton Corbijn is being honored with a special retrospective featuring unique highlights from his work. Corbijn has photographed international artists and directed music videos for world-famous artists such as U2, Metallica, The Killers, Joy Division, Depepe Mode, Coldplay, and Johnny Cash. For his film Control, about the band Joy Division, he won no fewer than two awards at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. Performance of Felixs Machines Artist Feilx Thorn (EN) created these extraordinary machines in his bedroom. They transform rhythmic audio structures into a visual 3D show. Felix's Machines have previously been shown in Bordeaux, London, Berlin, Paris, and at TED Global 2009 in Oxford. The Shoot Me Film Festival, in collaboration with TAG, presents the Dutch premiere! Foreign Ground: Poland and Antilles Under the banner of Foreign Ground, current and globally relevant themes are addressed annually during the SMFF. In 2010, this is the changing society caused by ongoing migration. The focus here is on Poland and the Antilles, two countries inextricably linked to the Netherlands. In a special program about Poland, the Shoot Me Film Festival provides an overview of contemporary developments in the field of Polish film and animation. As 2010 is also the Chopin Year, the program is supplemented with music by Chopin performed by live musicians. On October 10, 2010, the official dismantling of the Netherlands Antilles takes place. On that same day, the Antilles take center stage at the SMFF. The program focuses on encountering Antillean culture; both in the Antilles themselves and the culture as it has manifested itself in the Netherlands.
