Registration Day of the TV Idea started!
This coming Wednesday, May 6, The Day of the TV Idea will take place for the ninth time. New television creators can present their TV ideas there to public and commercial broadcasters and to television producers.
Prior to this day, a series of workshops is traditionally organized. This year under a new name: The TV Idea Academy.
During The TV Idea Academy, as a new television maker, you work under the guidance of experienced makers and producers on the development of your TV idea and yourself as a television maker.
The TV Idea Academy 2009 runs from March through April. The academy consists of one evening workshop and two Saturday workshops, coaching by industry professionals, and pitch training by our partner, the Binger Film Lab. The best-developed plans will ultimately be presented at The Day of the TV Idea.

Send an email with your name, the (working) title of your idea, and your CV to: [email protected] and attach a separate text document (.doc or .txt file) containing the following information:

♣ Your membership number and/or student number if you are a member of the NFTVM or NBF or a student at the NFTA:
♣ The (working) title of your plan
♣ Which category your idea falls into: drama, documentary or entertainment
♣ A short summary of your idea (max. 400 words!)
♣ Your ideas about the target audience, broadcaster/channel, and genre (max. 10 lines)
♣ Your motivation to participate in the TV Idee Academie (max. 10 lines)
♣ A description of your role in the execution of your idea (max. 10 lines)
The deadline for registration is Friday, February 20 at 17:00.
You will hear by Friday, February 27 at the latest whether you have been selected to develop your idea.
The kick-off of De TV Idee Academie 2009 is on Thursday, March 5, from 17:00 to 22:00 in Amsterdam.
Costs & Conditions
- Participation in The TV Idea Academy 2009 is only possible if you have not previously participated in The Day of the TV Idea.
- The costs for participating in De TV Idee Academie are:
€195 for NFTVM members, NBF members, and NFTA students
€295 for non-members.
If you are selected, the registration fee for the kick-off day must be transferred to Postbank 7391522 payable to Vereniging Nieuwe Film & TV Makers in Amsterdam. (NB: Postbank does not recognize the abbreviation NFTVM!) Please clearly state your name, (working) title, and "De TV Idee Academie 2009" in the transfer details.
- It is not possible to develop the idea with multiple people in De TV Idee Academie.
(If your idea is eventually selected for The Day of the TV Idea, you may of course bring your creative team!)
No correspondence will be entered into regarding the results of the selection for De TV Idee Academie and ultimately for De Dag van het TV Idee.
NB:
- Do not send detailed scripts or shooting schedules yet. If these are needed, you will be asked for them later in the process. If you do not have an answer to any of the points above, please omit them. Should the organization have questions, they will contact you. Therefore, clearly state your contact details. Ideas will never be passed on to other parties without permission.
