Throughout the whole of art history there have always been comments on, and depictions of, the erotic and all that has to do with the place of sex and sexuality in society and personal life. Rated X would like to invite young (video) artists to submit video works wich deal with the subject matter of sex, sexuality and the erotic. For the \"ARTS ON EROTICS PROGRAM\" the Rated X crew will compile a one and a half hour program of video works to be shown on the big screen during the 2009 Rated X - Amsterdam Alternative Erotica Film Festival. Next to that there will be a limited amount of monitors for the presentation of videoworks on the festival location as the opportunity to present one full fledged video installation. After the festival the \"Rated X - Arts on Erotica\" program will be representing Rated X on different erotica and regular film festivals around the world. The film only implies some kind of their nervous depression and isolation in modern repetitive life. Arguably, no greater cinematic interpreter of alienation exists in the world today than Austrian director Michael Haneke. Haneke shows us characters whose response to the world around them has deadened, people who have forgotten how to feel, how to love, how to care.
